What’s in a name?

Our big achievement this week has been choosing a name for our course – Statistics: Unlocking the World of Data. It was far from an easy process deciding on this name, but we’re happy with our final decision, which we feel communicates both the topic of the course, and the course’s aim to show how statistics is a useful, important and interesting¬†part of all of our lives.

Here’s some of the rejected names:

  • Statistics: The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
  • Statistics in action
  • How not to lie with statistics
  • The lore of averages
  • Explore statistics
  • Everyday statistics
  • Statistics exposed
  • Statistics: Making sense of data
  • Statistics for the scared
  • Stats that
  • Statistics made sample
  • Data-day statistics
  • Stat-tastic
